    How to change WordPress username and password

    For provide security to our site we need change the username and password. If we want to delete the old user and want to add new user and password then we can change the username and password.

    The easiest way to change your username that add a new user and provide the desired username and password and with the desired user role. For this you will need to new email different from existing one.

    Before start this process you need to login to your dashboard and go to Dashboard–>Users as shown in following snapshot.

    Then fill the required fields and you have created successfully your desired username and password.

    Change Username by Using a Plugin.

    Another simple to change user and password is use any plugin.
    For this you can install Username Changer plugin.
    Upon activation, simply go to Users » Username Changer page.

    With the help of this you can easily change your userneme.
    After change the username you can change the password by editing your desired  User.

    Change Your WordPress Username Using phpMyAdmin

    First thing you need to do is login to your cPanel. Scroll down to the databases section and click on phpMyAdmin.

    Next you need to select the database of your blog.

    Click on the table wp_users on the left hand side. Then click edit on the username that you want to edit.

    Change the user_login value to whatever you want. For example you can replace ‘admin’ to ‘XYZ’

    This password is encrypted  password  because for the security purpose.
    You can enter your desirable password and select the function MD5.
    MD5 is used for encrypt the  password.
    Click  the Go button  at the bottom and you are done.

    By Plugin… 2-3 Minutes
    By phpmyadmin…. 10-15 Minutes
    With edit users … 5-10 Minutes.
